Legendary Writer Roy Thomas & Artist Barry Windsor-Smith created, & introduced ‘Red Sonja’ debuting as a foil in Marvel’s "Conan the Barbarian" #23 (Feb 1973). Her popularity quickly set her centre stage. The flame haired She-Devil with a Sword is the most feared and desired warrior-woman of the Hyborian Age! Very loosely based on ‘Red Sonya of Rogatino’ from Robert E. Howard's short story "The Shadow of the Vulture" in The Magic Carpet Magazine (Jan 1934) The ‘GodFather’ of the “Sword & Sorcery Genre” Howard ushered entire industries in pop culture. From the Fantasy Genre, to RPGs, and up to the creation of modern Cosplay: The ENTIRE history(s) can be traced thru the story of Red Sonja. 

For nearly a century, like all great Icons - Red Sonja’s mythology evolved as some of the greatest Writers / Artists / Performers of all time contributed their take.
